Where Meridian fits

Across Auxesia, we work with leaders at every stage of their journey. Altitude is built for those in or growing into C-suite and director roles. The Keys to the C-Suite supports ambitious managers making the step upward. Meridian is something different. It exists for leaders who have already arrived at the top, who take the quality of their own thinking seriously enough to keep investing in it. If that is where you are, you are in the right place.

1-2-1 Executive Coaching & Mentoring

The most effective leaders at the top of their field never stopped getting better.

There is a thinking space that simply does not exist within most organisations at the most senior level. Meridian creates it: honest, expert, entirely confidential, and built for leaders who are already operating at the highest level and want to go further.

The particular pressures of the top

When you are the most senior person in the room, something changes. And not entirely for the better.

The candid conversations stop. The people around you are either reporting to you, competing with you, or, at board level, measuring you. Everyone has a stake in how you are perceived. That means the genuinely honest, challenging, consequence-free thinking space that most people take for granted at earlier career stages has quietly disappeared from your life.

What fills the gap, for most leaders at this level, is a combination of instinct, experience, and the gradually narrowing circle of perspectives that comes with spending long enough at the top of a single organisation. It is often enough. But it rarely produces the best thinking available.

If any of that is recognisable, this page is worth reading.

A different kind of conversation

Most leadership development is designed for people who are still becoming leaders. You have already done that part.

You have seen the frameworks. Sat through the programmes. Accumulated more insight about leadership than most people will in a lifetime. What is rarely on offer, at the most senior level, is genuine thinking partnership: someone who is not invested in your organisation, not constrained by the same hierarchy, and capable of keeping up with the complexity of the problems you are actually dealing with.

This is not a programme. There is no curriculum. It is an intensely personal, confidential relationship built around rigorous thinking, genuine challenge, and complete accountability, designed specifically for leaders who take their own performance at the highest level seriously.

The goal is not to give you more information or better frameworks. It is to help you think more clearly, make sharper decisions, and lead with the intentionality that the role, at this level, genuinely demands. And to have someone in your corner who will tell you the truth.

The approach draws on the neuroscience and psychology of leadership, three decades of real-world business experience at senior and board level, and a coaching style that is direct, warm, and entirely free of organisational politics. No one in this relationship has a stake in your organisation. That matters more than most leaders initially expect.

What changes

Peak clarity. Sharper decisions. Leadership that reflects what you are actually capable of.

Leaders working at this level describe a shift that goes beyond tactics and technique. It is more structural than that.

They start each week knowing, with greater precision, where their attention should actually be. They make the difficult decisions, the ones they have been circling, from a position of greater clarity and genuine conviction. They lead their organisations in a way that reflects their real capability rather than the reduced version that emerges after months of operating without proper challenge.

Some find that a pattern of thinking that has served them well for years is also quietly constraining them. Others gain the kind of external perspective that changes how they engage with their boards, their teams, and their own sense of direction. Many describe it as the most valuable professional investment they have made.

Specifically, Meridian clients work on: strategic clarity and decision-making at the most senior level; board and investor relationships; leading organisations through significant change or disruption; executive presence and impact; building the cultures and teams that perform without constant management; sustainable high performance over the long term; and preparing thoughtfully for what comes next in their careers.

Client perspectives

In their own words.

Stuart really understands what coaching is about. His tremendous business experience enables him to help anybody in a senior position to effect the changes they desire. I was certainly enriched by my sessions with Stuart.

Director

The coaching with Stuart has helped me understand my priorities and has focused me on them. Stuart challenged me to think differently about many things; those challenges were always on point. He has made a huge impact in a short space of time. I was initially a sceptic, but now I am converted.

Senior Executive, Private Sector

It has been so refreshing to work with Auxesia. Their mentoring style has been hugely successful for several of our executive board members and senior staff. I would unreservedly recommend Auxesia as a valuable partner.

CEO, Financial Services

Stuart has a relaxed, authentic and genuine manner and I was instantly at ease. He played devil's advocate, encouraged me to challenge myself, and guided me whilst allowing me to come to my own conclusions. I would highly recommend anyone who recognises it is time for a different level of thinking to engage with Stuart.

Senior Leader

Stuart helped me greatly in identifying how to approach issues, work through them, and prioritise the most important ones. He helped me develop my own personal skills and business knowledge, providing direction and clarity where we were sometimes lacking.

Managing Director

Stuart provided strategic advice and, more importantly, focused on my personal growth to give me the confidence to embrace the challenge rather than fear it. Working with Stuart helped me realise my potential; my business growth has exceeded my expectations.

Entrepreneur & Founder

On investing in this kind of support

Every significant performer at the top of their field invests in an outside perspective. Not because something is wrong. Because that is what peak performance actually requires.

The most effective CEOs, senior board directors, and founders in the world all work with coaches and thinking partners. It is not a reflection of a gap in capability. It is a recognition that sustained, exceptional performance at the highest level needs something that internal resources, however capable, cannot provide: independent thinking, genuine challenge, and complete accountability to someone with no political stake in the outcome.

At this level, the risk is rarely that something is broken. The risk, more typically, is operating at a very good level when an exceptional level is available, and not having the mechanism to close that gap, because the environment you operate in cannot provide it.

Meridian is that mechanism. Built for leaders who have already demonstrated what they are capable of, and who take seriously the question of how much further that capability can go.

The context matters

The environment you are leading in has shifted fundamentally. The frameworks most senior leaders were given have not kept pace.

If this period of leadership feels more demanding than anything that has come before, it is not a reflection of your capability. It is a reflection of the moment.

In 2026, senior leaders are navigating a convergence of pressures that no generation of executives has faced in quite this configuration: AI disrupting every function simultaneously; geopolitical and economic volatility reshaping strategy faster than boards can ratify it; talent expectations that have inverted; and a relentless demand to be both decisive and perpetually adaptable, sometimes in the same meeting.

The instincts and frameworks that brought you here were built, largely, for a more predictable world. That is not a personal failing. It is the reality of a landscape that has shifted beneath everyone's feet. That is why even highly capable, deeply experienced leaders find themselves in need of a different kind of thinking partnership.

The cost of delay

Time at the top is finite. The decisions you make now carry greater consequences than any you have made before.

There is never a perfect moment to invest in this. There is always something more urgent, more visible, more pressing. That is the nature of senior leadership, and it is precisely the dynamic that keeps genuinely capable leaders operating below their ceiling for years at a stretch.

The leaders who invest now, who address the thinking patterns, strategic blind spots, and leadership habits that are limiting their effectiveness, are the ones who will navigate the next wave of disruption with genuine confidence rather than reactive management.

The question is not whether the environment will keep demanding more of you. It will. The question is whether you will face it with everything you are capable of, or with a fraction of it.

About Stuart Colligon

The experience to understand where you are. The training to help you go further.

Stuart Colligon

Stuart Colligon is not a theorist who has studied leadership from the outside. He has spent 30 years at the centre of it: building companies from the ground up, leading through restructures and rapid growth, navigating the strategic, commercial, and human complexities that come with running and directing organisations of different scales and sectors.

That background is the foundation of everything he brings to Meridian. When you describe the pressure of a board relationship, the frustration of a leadership team that will not quite cohere, the quiet uncertainty about whether the strategy is right. He does not need it translated. He has lived versions of it.

On top of that real-world experience, Stuart holds specialist qualifications in the psychology and neuroscience of leadership, and is one of a small number of practitioners certified to conduct emotional intelligence assessments, a tool that has repeatedly delivered the kind of insight that years of standard 360 feedback has not. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership, recognising sustained contribution to leadership development at the highest level.

His style is warm, direct, and entirely non-judgemental. Clients consistently describe the experience as simultaneously challenging and deeply comfortable: a combination that creates the conditions for thinking that is both honest and productive.

The process

Built entirely around you. Confidential from start to finish.

There is no standard curriculum and no prescribed programme that every client moves through in lockstep. Everything is built around your specific situation, your goals, and what you are trying to achieve, starting with a thorough understanding of where you actually are.

1

The Chemistry Call

A no-obligation, confidential conversation to understand where you are, what you are working towards, and whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no pressure and no sales pitch, just an honest conversation about whether this makes sense.

2

Your Coaching Blueprint

If we decide to work together, your programme begins with a thorough assessment, including, where relevant, an emotional intelligence profile that often surfaces insights that years of standard feedback has missed. This becomes the foundation for everything that follows.

3

The Sessions Themselves

Each session is a focused, high-quality thinking space: typically 60 to 90 minutes, conducted in person or virtually. The agenda is yours. The work is real. Sessions are scheduled at a cadence that fits your life: weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

4

Ongoing Support Between Sessions

The thinking does not stop when the session does. Stuart remains available between sessions for brief exchanges and reflection as you apply insights in the real world, because that is where leadership development actually happens.

5

Measurable Progress

At regular intervals, you and Stuart review progress against the goals set at the outset, adjusting the focus as your situation evolves. The aim is always visible, meaningful progress that you can feel in the work and see in the results.

The first step

A single conversation.
No obligation. No pressure.

Book a confidential call with Stuart. There is nothing to prepare, nothing to justify, and no commitment required. It is simply a conversation, to understand where you are and whether this is the right support for you at this point in your career.

Consider the actual risk.

The initial call costs nothing but an hour of your time. The very worst outcome is that you leave with a clearer sense of where you want to go next. That, in itself, is not nothing.

The greater risk, in all honesty, is doing nothing. Remaining in the same thinking patterns, without the challenge and accountability that the most senior level actually demands of you. Watching another year pass in which you were capable of more, and knew it.

Leaders who invest in this kind of work do not look back and wonder whether it was worth it. They look back and wonder why they waited so long.
